BLAZE 4: November 16, 2025 - When You Forget Your Lines
How sin and suffering entered the world and why our Lord won't leave us to live in fear
This is a very thoughtful BLAZE night, because we begin the conversation about why Baptism and the other great sacraments are necessary: because sin and suffering happen in a broken world... But have no fear, we'll end the story with the incredible and profound love that saves us! It's important that your child be able to talk with you about the very deep questions that often leave us worried and concerned: why is there such sadness in a world that God made so beautiful? Why do good people sometimes suffer? These are important questions and if we answer them well, our children can learn to do two things: (1) to see that when bad things happen, it doesn't mean that God doesn't love us, because, on the contrary, He respects our freedom and allows our decisions to have outcomes so that the good we do matters, and (2) that God will never forsake us, never leave us - even if we falter or fail. This is the first step toward understanding the sacrament of Reconciliation. For the next two BLAZE sessions, we'll discuss the importance of repenting our sins - and the FORGIVENESS - we all need to keep the story going.
