Family Bash Contests 2026

Fun Contests!

	Art Contest Who May Enter The art exhibit is open to artists age 5 and older. Entries will be judged in these age categories: Kindergarten to First Grade Second Grade to Third Grade Fourth Grade to Sixth Grade Seventh Grade to Eighth Grade High School Adult Only one entry per person/per category ______________________________________________________ Materials & Creativity The artwork must be: original, a recent creation, and must not be computer-generated (AI), scanned, or traced. Art should demonstrate the importance of being a part of a "FAMILY". All painting mediums (paint, oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencils, crayons, etc.) are welcome as long as it meets size criteria. The theme for this year is: "FAMILY" Participants of our Painting with Tressie sessions are encouraged to enter their artwork in the ART CONTEST. ______________________________________________________ Size and Setup All entries should not exceed 20in. X 24in., mounted. Artwork must NOT be framed. Art should NOT have name, initials, or a title on the front of the piece. Matting is preferred, but each piece should be mounted. Velcro may be affixed to the back of the entries for hanging on a fabric panel. ______________________________________________________ Entry and Display Art must be dropped off by Monday October 5 by 3:30 pm to the church office. Art should be labeled clearly with your entry paperwork attached to the back of your piece with the following information: Your name Title of your piece with a brief description (please TYPE or PRINT very clearly) Entries will be displayed in the courtyard classrooms - Friday and Saturday of the Bash weekend for parishioners to vote on and to enjoy. Judging & Prizes Art will be judged by Our St. Luke Parish Family after all masses the weekend of the Bash. (except Sunday 4pm mass) After the Bash Art can be picked up on Sunday after judging or at the end of the Bash. Any art pieces not picked up by the end of the Bash will be available in the church office for pickup. Winners will be announced on Sunday at the 3:15 pm Awards Ceremony.

	PUMPKIN PAINTING CONTEST Who May Enter The contest is open to all ages, families, and ministries! You may enter as an individual, family, group, or ministry team. Only one entry per person/group. There is no limit to the size of the pumpkin, but it must be purchased at our Pumpkin Patch. Materials & Creativity Pumpkins are a great medium for painting - and really lend themselves to the creativity of all ages! So, with that in mind, come up with your own theme and use the pumpkin to really express your idea! Themes should be cute, (not offensive, scary, or inappropriate.) You may add inserts to your pumpkin, but should not rely on pre-made items or templates. Do not trace a premade template onto your pumpkin, please. Size and Setup Size is not limited, but the pumpkin should have been purchased at our Pumpkin Patch. Entry and Display *Your pumpkin must be dropped off by Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the designated area at the Family Life Center.* Your pumpkin should be labeled clearly with your entry: Your name Theme of your pumpkin Please email Carol Ruiz [email protected] for questions or if you have dropped off an entry at the office Please include your contact phone number and email. All emails must be received by the deadline. Judging & Prizes Categories may include (but not limited to): Funniest Pumpkin Most Creative/Original Best Family Entry Best Ministry Entry People’s Choice (by popular vote!) Winners will be announced @ 3pm, Sunday afternoon at the Family Bash Awards Ceremony. Good Spirit Rule All entries should be designed in the spirit of good fun, community, and celebration. Please be respectful of others’ creations—no touching, moving, or altering anyone else’s pumpkin. After the Bash Your pumpkin can be picked up on Sunday afternoon when the judging is over. No pumpkins left on the premises will be saved. ********************************************************
	PIE EATING CONTEST Who May Enter Must be 15 years of age or older. Participants younger than 16 must have parental consent. RULES: Participants must be registered by 9:00 am on Sunday morning (October 11, 2026) and should meet at the front of the stage at 1:00 pm. The first contestant to finish a pie with no hands will be the winner! Limited to 10 participants, so register soon!! 	TRUNK OR TREAT CONTEST Who May Enter Any adult with a vehicle can host a trunk, that has registered and has been approved and assigned a numbered parking spot by the Trunk or Treat Coordinators (Ken & Cindy Schwingshakl) All hosts must register to participate by October 5, 2025, end of business day and arrive between 4 -5:30 pm on October 10th to set up for this event. Materials & Creativity Themes should be cute, (not offensive, scary, or inappropriate.) Size and Setup Entry and Display Click here for all the Trunk or Treat Rules, Guidelines and ideas Judging Every family will be given a voting slip to choose which trunk is their favorite. These slips are collected and tallied up. People's choice award will be announced at the end of the Trunk or Treat as well as at the Family Bash Awards Ceremony at 3:15pm on Sunday. 	BAKING CONTEST - An Apple a Day Bakers are asked to bring in their favorite "APPLE" Desserts! Who May Enter The contest is open to all ages! Families are more than welcome to work together to participate! Materials & Creativity Food is a great way to bring people together. This year we are asking bakers to make their Best APPLE Dessert! The recipe that you prepare must use APPLES as the main ingredient. Cupcakes, pies, muffins, trifles, Bundt cake, ice cream, strudel, cobbler. The list is endless, so get out those recipe books and start baking! Baking requires all kinds of amazing skills. We want to see what you've got! Size and Setup Contestants should provide at least 24 pieces/slides/servings of their baked item. It should look appetizing, clean, and taste delish! Please do not bring your item in a breakable or irreplaceable serving dish/pitcher/etc. After judging all of the baked goods are given out to Bash goers. Judging & Awards based upon Categories may include (but not limited to): Taste Creativity Appearance Good Spirit Rule All entries should be prepared in the spirit of good fun, community, and celebration. Please be respectful of others’ creations—no touching, moving, or altering anyone else’s entry. Entry and Display Contestants must be registered by October 5, 2026, at 3:30 pm. You may enter more than one baked item but each entry must have 24 servings. ALL baked items MUST be signed in by 11:00AM on October 11th at the designated area inside of the Family Life Center (FLC) Be sure to sign in at the table where your entry will be assigned a judging number Your dish MUST be labeled clearly with the name of your dish and include your full name and phone number Participants are required to pick up thier dishes/pitchers/etc.. after the Bash has ended Judging will begin promptly at 12:15pm.
